FREDDY! and other random stuffs
I did a guest strip for Freddy, my good friend Melissa‘s comic:
She’s self-published “Freddy Stories” – an adorable collection of stories about Freddy, for kids and adults alike! She’s an extremely gifted story teller – check out her stuff.
I also selfishly included my character momo in the comic strip- that story I hope to get on a website of it’s own, soon. >.<
In other news, the past few days were consumed with getting ready for my grandmother’s 90th birthday. I was in charge of the slideshow, which meant browsing through tons of photo albums and unorganized photos -scanning, organizing, etc. But it’s over! On the other hand, I came across some photos of things I did in the past year that I forgot to post about, including this gingerbread house, cactus m&m christmas trees courtesy of the imaginative and at times frightening mind of my sister:
and a dress I made for possibly the cutest girl in the world:
photos courtesy of both my excellent sisters.
hearts galore
call me a sap or whatnot. i just like ‘holidays’ with food.
updated comics with a little story I did a couple years back. my version of a love story.
eat lots of chocolate and some goodies i baked for the occasion:
Sydney Taylor Book Awards
Guess what? One of the books I worked on is getting an award!
I’m not sure how much I actually contributed to the book, but I feel honored to have been a part of it. Anyway, there will be a blog tour – check out the schedule here.
Congrats and thank you to Trina Robbins who actually wrote the book, to Anne Timmons (pencilist), and to Graphic Universe!
what have we been up to (pt.3)
And finally, I did a little story for a nursery rhyme anthology from First Second coming out in October this year (I think?). I was given the nursery rhyme “Hush, little baby” and since it’s so short, I will only give you a panel:
what have we been up to? (pt.2)
So … what else have we (i) been up to?
I was lucky enough to have been able to be part of a project to be published by Graphic Universe — I inked! How crazy is that?! It’s up on amazon now for pre-order if you want to check it out. I was also (even more) lucky to have been able to pencil (and ink) some pages as well… 5 in total, I think? They are mostly chapter title pages, but here are a couple images: (click for bigger)
what have we been up to?
So after being terrible about updating this blog for many months, I thought it would be good to show at least a little of what I’ve been doing… if there’s anyone left who actually looks at this site anymore…
Anyway, we’ll start off with a couple illustrations I did for KidsVT and Sevendays, a magazine and newspaper, respectively. I cropped them weirdly, I don’t know why. click for bigger.
